Transport Fever 2: Create a crowded stations vale of 80%

The Shanghai mission of Transport Fever 2 (the last mission of the 3^rd chapter) includes an optional quest to “create a crowded stations vale of 80%.” Initially I increased the number of vehicles, hoping the value would decrease to get less overcrowded stations. However, it seemed like I simply couldn’t succeed and the number rather increased instead.

The steam forums gave me the right clues. First of all, the goal is to have less than 20% uncrowded stations, meaning the majority of stations (>80%) must be crowded. I somehow thought the opposite is asked of me. In addition, this includes road stations, not just train stations.

Now, this can be achieved without too much work:

1. Reduce the number of vehicles on every passenger line down to one.
2. On your train stations, shorten all passenger platforms to one element per track.
3. Once the vehicle of said line is on the way, stop it (click on a vehicle, and click the “power off” button next to the camera showing the vehicle).
4. Wait a bit and watch the value drop below 80%.
